Taking Care of Business: Cultivating Community, Career, & Legacy
Awesome Activist Leadership Camp is an engaging, empowering, enriching, and power-packed week full of fun. Youth will be engaged through interactive and thought-provoking speakers, empowered by the informative and transforming tools and tips shared, and experience service learning that enriches their perspective.
Food will be provided for camp; if your child has a food allergy, please make sure to note that on the registration. Please send your students with a water bottle and wearing their AALC t-shirt (campers will receive t-shirts on the first day of camp on Monday, June 15th).
Transportation during camp (e.g., to and from service-learning) will be provided through vans rented by the Excellence Project. Vans will be driven by Excellence Project staff. Please note that transportation will not be provided to and from camp. All participants must find their own rides to and from camp every day.
"Taking Care of Business"
This year, campers will take a deep dive into what it means...
to manage their impact and responsibilities as young leaders, entrepreneurs, and future change makers. Campers will be encouraged to think like problem solvers, innovators, advocates, entrepreneurs, CEO, and not just students. Camp will focus on action and not just ideation, preparation, planning, implementation, and execution. Campers will learn to pair their impact and influence with strategy to meet and exceed their goals. Handling business in their homes, schools, and communities as they endeavor to change the world.
RISING 12TH GRADERS AND ABOVE ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOLUNTEER IN LEADERSHIP ROLES AS CAMP COUNSELORS. RISING 12TH GRADERS CAN CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE AS CAMPERS IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO VOLUNTEER AS A JUNIOR COUNSELOR.
