EXCELLENCE

PROJECT

We envision a world where children are not criminalized.

Childhood experiences have a direct connection to adult outcomes.

230k

students have been referred to law enforcement in a single school year.

2.7m

K-12 students received one or more out-of-school suspensions in a recent school year.

12m

people are in prison, jailed, on probation or parole.

2m

Children are impacted by the criminal legal system.

Our Mission

Excellence Project works to interrupt systems that criminalize youth.  We help them build lives of opportunity, stability, and purpose. Through individualized support, community partnerships, and a comprehensive resource model, we guide youth and families as they navigate school discipline and legal systems. We remove barriers, restore dignity, and invest in every young person's potential.
